Tile Making at The Color of Clay
Kerr County Love Project: Community Tile-Making Day
Join us for a day of community tile making with clay, contributing to a
large-scale mosaic mural that celebrates Kerr County’s joy, beauty, and history.
What to Expect:
Working with clay is both calming and restorative. When we create art together, we strengthen our sense of connection and care within the community. In these workshops, our team of art therapists holds a safe, supportive space for processing the emotions that arise in times of hardship. Art fosters healing and resilience, and as Kerr County continues to recover from the recent floods, the long-form process of mosaic making offers a way to rebuild hope and empowerment—one tile at a time.
Community Glazing & Connection Session
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
This open community session invites participants of all ages to come together in a shared creative space as we glaze thousands of tiles created for the project. To date, over 10,000 tiles have been made by community members, and this phase of the process offers a meaningful opportunity to continue that collective effort. Participants will engage in the glazing process, connect with others, and contribute to a larger work that reflects the resilience, hope, and future of Kerr County. The space will offer opportunities for conversation, reflection, and creative connection.
This session is designed as a welcoming, come-and-go environment where individuals, families, educators, and community members can gather, create, and be part of something lasting.
